What's this about?

Dramatic Flair... every family needs one. They make sparks fly, belly laughter erupt, and spread sunshine with every breath they take! So if you need a smile, sit and read a while and see if you don't walk away feeling lighter on your feet just from seeing things from the view of our one-of-a-kind, Dramatic Flair!

A Place To Share More...

Well, since Dramatic Flair started Kindergarten, I have been journaling the occurrences of her world from her own words shared with me along the path. Now that she has entered first grade, it has become clear that sime Facebook entries are not enough to explain in full effect, how this precious child sees and experiences life! She is the last of five children to be born into our lives and I have always joked that there was a reason God left her for last, because she might have been an "only"! She is a spit-fire, full-of-life, miracle straight from Heaven that reminds us every single day how to live and how to really sieze the moments. There is never one dull moment if she is near... and I mean anywhere near... and no doubt, for the rest of our lives, we will laugh at the daily antics and experiences brought to us by the one, the only, DRAMATIC FLAIR! She is a hoot and sometimes in life, we just need to laugh! So get ready to laugh as I take you back through Kindergarten, through first grade, and to the present. I hope she brings a ray of sunshine to your lives and reminds you to not get too serious in life and just SKIP and SING because that makes everything BETTER!

Dramatic Flair's Second Grade Sillies

Dramatic Flair has joined the ranking of second grade.  We are off to a big start and big funnies.  She is developing into an older child every day it seems... and I am not sure I like how fast it is going.  But what I do like is that even as she grows older, her zest for life only increases, rather than decreases... and that makes for some great stories to pass along!  She has a wonderful teacher that understands her heart and obviously God ordained this path again this year... just as we expected He would!  Buckle Up!  The ride has only just begun in her Second Grade Sillies!

12-24-12  - Dramatic Flair at the Candle Light Service Christmas Eve

12-24-12  Last day with Mr. Jolly before he left for the North pole.  She was sad, sad, sad to see him go.... but he left her with a good message and reminder of what it's all about...Mr. Jolly's last day with us is being spent in worship of the reality that Jesus was worthy of worship, instantly, even in his infancy. We too will bow. Merry Christmas!

12-23-12 Dramatic flair's 2nd grade sillies: as we are in a chaos crowd in hallmark I hear a shriek..."Maaaaammmmaaa!". I wheel around expect g broken glass or the such. Nope. There before me was my wide-eyed child staring at a box that said "elf on a shelf". I was caught off guard and probably had the same look as her. We both just stood there. Then finally she broke the silence and said, in almost a sad... voice, "wow. I guess those fake elves are for the kids that don't believe or have been really, really bad." I started nodding. she said, I bet they dont even look like the REAL elves like Mr. Jolly and they sure don't have magic from Santa.". All I could say was "indeed! Yes indeed!".... Whew! Both of us were concerned there for a moment that Mr. Jolly came in a BOX!!

12-23-12 --We had so much fun with Mr. Jolly's surprises each night.  But... this night was the best....Mr. Jolly was found reading God's word. Luke chapter 2. The story of our Savior's birth. Looks like even mischievous elves know the real miracle of Christmas is indeed Christ!

12-3-11  We have been wondering where Mr. Jolly was! He showed up today! Right in the middle of the day! Guess he knew she was sick and could use a "pick me up!" Can't wait to see what all he pulls and how Dramatic Flair responds! :)

11-13-11   Here is the latest.....dramatic flair's 2nd grade sillies: She had a rash on her leg and went to see the school nurse. As they were chatting while putting ointment on her leg, she proceeded to engage in conversation of her love of art. It went something like this. "I love art!" Nurse, "You do?" "Yes! I LOVE it. And I have a weasel." Nurse, "A weasel???" "Yes a weasel. A BIG weasel." Nurse, "A weasel? Like, the animal?" dramatic pause. "NOOOO! you know a weasel that you paint pictures on!" Nurse, "Oh! an EASEL!" HAHAHAHA!!! I love that girl!!!

11-13-11  New neighbor = new friendship beginning! I love how open kids are to each other! Especially my Dramatic Flair! She truly loves people free of judgement! It is inspirational!

11-10-11  Dramatic Flair's 2nd grade sillies: After a lesson in school on mean words/ kind words, her teacher asked kids how they felt. In all her dramatic flair that earned her the name, she says (and repeated again to me word for word), "Well, I felt (dramatic pause) like a stray dog! (dramatic pause) I was all alone and sad. (huge sigh and dramatic facial expression) But then, I was found and taken in a...nd suddenly (dramatic pause) I had a home! And it never mattered that I was different than all the other dogs! (huge release of breath as if finally, all was well)... seeing how she has been without a family and a place to belong, I can see how she can relate in this way!.... CRACKS ME UP!!! And her teacher too!

9-16-11  Dramatic flair's 2nd grade sillies:  "Mama, guess what?"   "What?"   "I made the GOOD BEHAVIOR club! Like, ALREADY! Can you even believe it?"   "Wow! I'm really proud of you!"   "Me too! I mean, I have been like trying not to talk so much! And last year...yeah, it took me like HALF the year...and I still talked some but Mrs. Z. was just okay with it!"   "Well, I am glad it took less time this year." "Me too...but it wasn't easy...sometimes I just wanna talk soooo bad."... funny, I understand this well!

9-12-11  Dramatic flair's 2nd grade sillies: being thrilled that its her turn for the "cool box" tomorrow, she was showing me what she is taking to share. She pulls out a costume jewelry necklace and says, "this is from grandmother, you know daddy's, like, grandma?" (in case I thought it was the neighbors g-ma I guess) "And well she has lived like a looonnnnnggggg time and gave this to me so it's like really special!" .... She makes me LAUGH!

For all that are dreading school.... please remember that we live in a blessed country with free education and God has ordained some beautiful things for you in the time ahead that you would not experience were it not for school. I love my summers too, but I wouldn't want to miss what's planned in the year ahead! Blessings to all!

8-20-11  Dramatic Flair's Second Grade Sillies: As we were leaving meet the teacher, she is bubbling over in chatter about her anticipation of the year ahead.
